Natale Law Office

Has anyone here had the lovely experience of dealing with the Natale Law Office?  They left me a message on Friday (with nothing but their phone number) and after googling it, I'm already dreading finding out what kind of stunt they're attempting to pull on me.  The Better Business Bureau even gives them an F rating, the lowest of the low.

Reply with your email and I'll send you details about meet-up times. I prefer somewhere between Downsview and St. George stations.

All books are $5, except $8 for hardcovers. All CDs are $10. I'll definitely do deals if you're buying more than one item.

Ok guys, I am flying out of Pearson this Tuesday. Is it 100ml or 30 ml hand of cream/face wash etc that I am allowed to bring. I know that I should make friends with google, but it may lie, and I want to know from someone who has recently flown out of Pearson.

Davisville walk-in clinics

Dec. 20th, 2009 | 04:09 pm
posted by: [info]deleonjh in [info]toronto

Hi everyone, I'm looking for any walk-in clinics near the Davisville subway. The two I've found on Google have bad reviews- the first is beside the Davisville station at 1910 Yonge and the second at 110 Eglinton Ave E between Yonge and Mt. Pleasant. I was kind of hoping for other options. How about it folks, any good ones out there? If not, maybe some around the St. Clair station? Any help would be appreciated.

SELLING A GPS

posted by: [info]becomingun in [info]toronto

I won a TomTom One130 GPS, but I have absolutely no use for it. I don't drive, and my family don't need one, nor do any of my friends, so I come to you, fellow torontonians. Need a Christmas gift? Maybe know a teenager who just got their first car?

It's brand new, in the box, and is ready to go any day. $80. Meetup either at the Eaton Centre or Union Station monday, tuesday, or wednesday.

toronto geeks

Hi guys,

I'm from Montreal and I'm going to be in Toronto visiting my Mother for the holidays. I've never lived there myself so i'm a little unfamiliar with the terrain, but I want to take my Mom out to a laid-back place where she can meet like-minded people. "Like-minded people" being Geeks.

She's a computer geek and likes geeky things and geeky people.

I'm already aware of Toronto Girl Geek Dinners and have passed on the info so that she can participate next time.

Could someone recommend some good bars or places that she might enjoy? Thanks! Sorry if this has been posted before - I did search the community and didn't find anything. Please point me in the right direction if it has already been posted.
thanks!

Is there such a thing as good chinese take-out? And helpful owner at gallery.

Me again! Hope everyone is well and warm and enjoying the cozy warmth of their friends and families during this festive season. My family participates in the strange tradition where in we order massive amounts of Chinese take-out for dinner on Christmas Eve while we finish the vaccuming, dusting and so on. What we would love is not to have to order from Chinese Gourmet again because it is an 11 out of 5 on the grease scale. We are at Parliament and Carlton and would be so grateful if you would recommend your very favourite Chinese restaurants that you think might deliver to our hood. Also, regarding my post earlier looking for black and white photographs of NYC and Audrey Hepburn - SevanARTGallery on Yonge just south of Wellesley has some great stuff. The owner (?) was incredibly helpful and very patient with what was in an indecisive half hour - I did end up getting two pieces, each beautiful and printed on canvas. Also, they have a buy one get one half off sale going on until the 24th! (I am in no way affiliated with or related to the store or the owner, just thought I'd share). Thanks for any Chinese take-out rec's and stay warm, Toronto!

Help keep the Toronto Women's Bookstore's doors open!

"The Toronto Women's Bookstore is in crisis and we need your help!

Independent businesses and bookstores have been closing their doors this
year, and after 36 years it is possible that we will have to do the same if
we are not able to raise enough money to survive. TWB is one of the only
remaining non-profit feminist bookstores in North America, but despite all
of the events, courses, workshops, community resources and additional
services we offer, the fact that we are a store means that we do not receive
any outside funding and rely entirely on sales and the support of our
customers to stay in business.

If you're looking to get some last minute gifts, do some leisurely reading over the holiday, or even buy some required books for that social science course (you'd be surprised at their selection) - The TWB is your place. Having just lost Pages, it would be more than a shame to see the Toronto Women's Bookstore go as well!

Antique streetcar on St. Clair West today

Dec. 19th, 2009 | 01:58 pm
posted by: [info]ink_space in [info]toronto

Neat! I just saw a very old-looking streetcar using the new tracks on St. Clair West. This is cool for a number of reasons. One, it's a streetcar from 1951 that's been fully restored. Two, this means the streetcar tracks must be usable now, so... maybe they'll switch back from the buses soon?

What isn't as cool about this: the signs plastered on the streetcar declaring the info about the restoration were printed in huge Comic Sans, with nonsensical capitalization. Sigh...

Edit: Aha! http://spacing.ca/wire/2009/12/15/free-vintage-streetcar-ride-on-st-clair-saturday/

WTF black and white shots of NYC

posted by: [info]chloe_danielle in [info]toronto

Hey hey, errybaddy.

I am looking for blown up photographs of NYC in black and white. I'm looking specifically for arial views and images with sharp, strong lines (very geometric).
Alternatively, b&w photos of Audrey Hepburn would be acceptable, however, nothing conventional or obvious. None of that Breakfast at Tiffany's silhouette stuff.

Any pointers as to where I could pick up something like this in the down town core? There's a gallery on Yonge north of College that I'm checking out today but any leads would be much appreciated.

So the subject says it all really. Where in Toronto can I get organic maraschino cherries and buttermilk for my holiday cherry walnut bread? I know where I should look, Whole Foods, Big Carrot, etc but I was hoping someone had actually seen it for sale somewhere.

TIA!

EDIT:
Edited to note that its also organic buttermilk that I am seeking. Not just normal buttermilk. Thanks!

looking for pie dough...but not preformed shells

Dec. 19th, 2009 | 09:55 am
posted by: [info]kateprice in [info]toronto

I'm in need of a few pounds of pie dough but I'm abysmal at making it, and since I'm not making pie shells out of it I'd prefer not to buy the frozen pie shells. Do any grocery stores carry just the dough or sheets of dough? Cost not really an issue (in fact I'd love to pay more and get decent quality stuff), but I need to purchase it today and I'd prefer to stay east of Yonge if possible.
